Native to the forests of Chiapas Mexico. Low growing, to 18 inches, deep green leaves with long arching spikes of deep hot pink flowers. Blooms mid spring - late fall, even longer in frost free areas. The clump can grow to 4 feet wide. This sage needs winter protection. It is such a tireless bloomer that many will happily grow this as an annual! It is a great container plant. Underplant with Veronica 'Waterperry' or lime thyme. Prune back 50% occasionally to revitalize bloom.
